Lyonel Penner plays steel guitar for TRRP and is an original member of the band. He’s been playing steel guitar for 23 years (longer than Brock’s been alive!) and has been a member of five other bands, including Mercury Blue. Lyonel has filled in for over a dozen other bands and recorded about 12 albums for different musicians. A highlight of his playing career is touring Texas and Kansas with “Harold Friesen and Blueridge.” He and his wife, Elda, are expecting their sixth child this summer. Lyonel says his wife reminds him of the Johnny Paycheck song, “Once You’ve Had the Best.”
